Students Representative Office (SRO) at The University of Lahore (UOL) participated in CARE Forum set up by the environmental section of Amnesty International and Green Living Association for developments in environmental education, information, awareness and training within the society to take collective initiatives in response to the critical environmental challenges faced by Pakistan.
Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Khan Director Quality Enhancement Cell UOL headed the delegation from UOL accompanied by Mr. Mansoor Asif Coordinator SRO and Mr. Umer Gill, Convener of UOL Environment Club. Mr. Khan presented the activities running in the University to develop awareness among students about Environment and to adopt practical ways in making their environment healthier and cleaner.
Environmental Science (BS) program at The University of Lahore help students in developing practical skills and knowledge required to critically evaluate environmental problems and issues, and provide applied solutions. The major is decidedly interdisciplinary in nature, focusing on the underlying natural processes related to the environment, understanding and employing the scientific method.
Dr. Zulfiqar shared how the students at UOL, Students Representative Office and UOL Environment Club work jointly in the ‘Clean and Green’ activities by cleaning campus, painting walls and pots and discussed about series of activities organized to promote healthy environmental conditions.
