The program is comprehensive module aimed at skill and attitude development required to excel as promising business executive. The program is quite extensive and provides sufficient exposure to diverse business conditions at national and multinational level. Students are expected to sustain the rigors of professional training and are required to apply their knowledge in simulated conditions. Specialization in Marketing, Finance and HR Management are offered.

Master of Business Administration (MBA 2 years)



The human resource requirement of the industry largely focuses on the versatile skills of the business graduates. Competence in business administration is essential for effective business and organisational development. The MBA programme is designed to provide students with skills and knowledge in the areas of planning business operations, analysis of markets, financial management and specialised interests. The curriculum exposes students to the knowledge and insight essential for significant participation in our increasingly competitive, technological, interdependent and rapidly changing business environment. The programme welcomes you to experience the rigors of business studies and assures reward at the beginning of your career. Students are encouraged to specialise in management, marketing or finance. MBA (evening programme)

The MBA evening programme offers learning opportunity by focusing on the rapidly changing business environment. The programme teaching methodology is designed to develop competence and managerial skills for effective business administration.

The programme provides students hands-on training and knowledge with help of case histories and case studies on issues faced by the corporate sector. Business study courses have been designed specifically for those who are engaged in professions related to Banking, Management, Marketing, Public Administration and Finance.

Eligibility

• At least three years working experience.

Masters of Public Administration (MPA)



The Department of Management Sciences is pleased to offer the Master of Public Administration (MPA), a degree programme for private and public sector professionals. The programme will be offered in the evening to facilitate working executives. MPM students will be required to complete 75 credit hours and 2 years duration for the degree. The MPM programme focuses on the changing nature of government and governance, keeping in view the essential skills required by our nation’s current and future leaders to craft and implement responsible policies. In order to achieve success and have real impact, today’s professionals must excel as policy entrepreneurs while managing within the rules and regulations of the public and private sectors.

The degree programme is designed for experienced professionals who seek to advance or change their careers with unique expertise and specialized educational needs. The Master of Public Administration programme focus is to capitalize on that expertise and meet those needs by offering specialized training in management and related fields. The MPM programme promotes the personal and professional development of students by providing skills, analytical techniques and strength in communication. In addition, the programme broadens students’ understanding of social, political, technological and economic processes as well as paradigms of organizational and human behavior.

NOTE: Applicants with a minimum of 2nd division in a 2 or 3 year BBA / BS / BA / B.Com / BCS or 14 years of education or equivalent degree from HEC recognized university / college can also apply, they will be required to complete 15 additional credit hours (total of 90 credit hours) to complete the degree requirement.

Masters of Philosophy in Business Administration (M.Phil)



The Department of Management Sciences at the University of Lahore is pleased to offer Master of Philosophy (M. Phil) in Business Administration degree program. The program is designed to strengthen the academic excellence of business graduates. The aim of the M. Phil programs is to provide research training in a manner that fosters the development of independent research skills in candidates. On completion of the period of research, the student shall possess the ability to formulate a significant problem, mastery of appropriate conceptual and methodological frameworks, and the capacity for articulate and critical analysis. The M. Phil thesis will provide evidence of significant research as the culmination of full-time study and research training.

Curriculum
The Department of Management Sciences M. Phil in Business Administration degree program comprises of 36 credit hours, consists of 8 courses (24 credit hours) and a thesis (12 credit hours). The core module consists of four courses of 24 credit hours and focus on the development of analytical skills and quantitative abilities of the graduates. Candidates will be required to complete the courses in the first year (semester I & II), and the thesis in the second year. Computer and Internet facilities will be available to the students.

Research Thesis:

On successful completion of the above courses by obtaining at least "B" grade, the candidates are required to complete the research module of 12 credit hours. The necessary requirements of this module are:

1. Formal submission and presentation of a research proposal to the DMS Board of Studies (BoS) and Advance Board of Studies for approval.

2. Students will be eligible/allowed to enroll in the thesis, after they have cleared the comprehensive examinatin required after the course work completion.

3. Allocation of supervisor for the thesis and written submission and presentation of formal dissertation with the consent of supervisor for approval of the BoS.

4. The final thesis/presentation will be assessed by two internal examiners and one external examiner.

5. The students will be required to publish at least one paper in a reputable journal in order to complete the M.Phil programme successfully.

6. Rules and regulations of M.Phil programme will be approved by the Board o Advance Studies, University of Lahore.
