UOL wins 7 Awards at American Firm Film Expo 2018
Distinguished Innovations, Collaboration and Entrepreneurship Foundation (DICE)-CAM, an American-based non-profit firm specializing in Creative Art & Media (CAM), organized a media production showcasing event dabbed DICE-CAM 2018 for university students in Karachi between October 5 and 6, 2018. The event was aimed at fostering innovativeness and creativity of youngsters in the institutions of higher learning in respect to integration of day-to-day ideas into contemporary digital media production.    
A team of 6 students from UOL’s School of Creative Arts (SOCA) and 4 from School of Architecture took part in the event and won 7 awards in the categories of short films, fiction short film, written documentaries, digital arts, photography, and visual arts, animation 2D and 3D. UOL students submitted the data in almost all the different categories required for the competition. 
At the opening of the event, Dr Khurshid Qureshi, founder and Chairman of DICE Foundation and an engineer by profession, spelt out the vision and mission of his organization saying; “We help students to bring their film production talents to the level of Hollywood standards. We want Pakistan Film Industry to be recognized worldwide and it is you the youngsters to do this.” 
Mr Ajmal Zaheer CO-Chairman told students to aim higher and stick to their set visions. DICE President, Mr. Saad Ellahie, remarked that Pakistan needs young creative minds that can utilize the natural potentials available to improve the social welfare of the citizens. Sultana Siddique CEO HUM TV, Bushra Ansari and Haseena Moin were the eminent chief guests who distributed the shields and certificates to the winners and participants.
Iqra University, Indus Valley, NCA Lahore, NCA PINDI, University of Peshawar, and Fatima Jinnah University for Women also participated in the event
