Search & Rescue Club participates in 7th National Rescue Challenge

UOL was the only civilian team that participated in the 7th National Rescue Challenge organized by the Punjab Emergency Services at Emergency Services Academy (Rescue 1122) from October 10 to 12, 2018 and emerged in the third position. Rahim Yar Khan District Emergency Services was the overall winner and Gujranwala District emerged second.  UOL has been taking part in this event for the last 10 year.

The UOL overall team that comprised of Sami Ullah Khan, Hafiz Mansoor, Ayaz Uddin, Ali Arshad, Roman Ali, Umar Nawaz, Zeeshan, Muhammad Hafiz, Noor Fatima, Lareeb and Ayaz Uddin won the first position in 100m & 200m Deep Water Rescue and Swimming challenges. Medical Trauma, Height Rescue, Deep Well Rescue, and Fire-Fight were the other challenges in which UOL specific teams participated.

Punjab Emergency Services Director General, Rizwan Naseer & Minister of Disaster Management Afzal Ch highly appreciated the UOL students for the proficiency and ability exhibited during the competition. Mr. Rizwan personally visited the UOL camp and motivated the team members.

In his address to the participating teams, Mr. Rizwan appreciated the officers, instructors and staff for organizing the event. “1122 has become a symbol of safety by providing timely emergency care to over 6.3 million victims, without discrimination, in an average response time of seven minutes. This is the right time for all the emergency services of Pakistan to enhance professional skills of their staff.” He observed.
