Hydra-Facial services launched, Accident Wing expanded at University Hospital
The Patron-in-Chief, the UOL, Mr. M.A. Raoof along with Chairman BoG, Mr. Awais Raoof, Rector, Prof. Dr. Mujahid Kamran, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Zahid Pervaiz, Associate Dean, Dr. Sikander Afzal, and Head of Surgery Prof. Dr. Mansab Ali, on July 25, 2019 inaugurated a state-of-the-art hydrafacial machine at the Dermatology Department of the Teaching Hospital (ULTH). With this apparatus in place, the department has started offering facial enhancements —including clearing of wrinkles, elasticity and firmness, skin tone, evenness and vibrancy, skins texture, brown spots, congested skin, enlarged pores and advanced signs of aging.
Upon this feat, the Head of Dermatology Prof. Dr. Syed Atif Kazmi said: “The technology we are launching offers the latest procedures that keep faces fresh. It is used in the developed world for the same. We expect expansion in out-patients as our charges are comparatively affordable,” he said, adding:  “Our general patients pay 5,000 Rs and students and the UOL staff are charged 2,500 a single session. The same elsewhere is charged between 8,000 and 10,000.”
Accident Wing expands
The expansion of the ULTH’s Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department is another milestone registered this year on July 20, 2019. A ten-bedded fully equipped facility with all lifesaving gadgets was launched by the Patron-in-Chief, Mr. M.A. Raoof in the presence of Chairman BoG, Mr. Awais Raoof, Deputy Chairman, Mr. Uzair Raoof, Rector, Prof. Mujahid Kamran, Pro-Rector Academics, Mr. Nasir Mahmood, Pro-Rector Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Shahid Mahmood Malik, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Zahid Pervaiz, Associate Dean Administration, Dr. Sikander Afzal, and Mrs. Shahnaz Raoof.
The new A&E hosts a Pharmacy, Ultrasound Room, Doctors’ office space, DMS Room, Procedure Room, Sluice Room and trolley cum beds designed to cater for the needs of the patients. According to Dr. Zahid, the old and new A & E units can now accommodate 26 patients at the same time. “We have emergency reception counter for immediate registration of patients, senior doctors, reserved areas for long stay and short stay patients and well trained nurses and support staff available 24/7,” he added while explaining the current status of the new expansion.
