The UOL, AJ&K University hold week-long seminar on Kashmir Crisis
The School of Integrated Social Sciences, The University of Lahore (UOL), and AJ&K University Muzaffarabad jointly hosted a weeklong seminar on ‘Kashmir: Conflict, Crisis and Dialogue’ July 7-14, 2019 in Murree, Rawalpindi. Various renowned academics, journalists along with students from both universities attended the Kashmir Boot Camp. The seminar aimed at discussing different dimensions of the protracted Kashmir conflict covering its legal, humanitarian, nuclear, water crisis, CPEC and other regional security dimensions.  
Dr. Rabia Akhtar, Head of the Department, School of Integrated Social Sciences, the UOL and Dr. Ayesha Sohail, Dean Social Sciences, AJ&K University welcomed the participants and lauded the commitment of the experts and resource persons from the two universities for organizing this first of its kind event.
Honorable President Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Sardar Masood Khan was the chief guest at the inaugural day of the seminar. He appreciated this unprecedented alliance between the UOL and AJ&K universities. Addressing the audience, Mr. Khan said Kashmiris have unbreakable ideological and religious bonds with their Pakistani brethren. Referring to the UN reports on human rights violations by India in Kashmir, he appealed to Pakistan to move the Kashmir case before the international community and project Kashmir as a global issue.
Sessions on Future of water wars in the Subcontinent; Indus Water Treaty analysis & the future of water wars, Rise of the BJP & Kashmir, Is Kashmir a nuclear flashpoint?, Role of third-party in Kashmir conflict/crises, Legal perspectives on Kashmir; Kashmir & the UNSC resolutions; Reality of the surgical strikes across the LoC, the Kashmir freedom struggle post-Burhan Wani, Evolution of India’s Kashmir Policy narrative, the CPEC & Kashmir, Indian Claim on J&K,Case of Article 35A, Tourism economy of Kashmir and the Human Rights situation in Kashmir  were held during the seminar with lectures given by renowned experts and intellectuals.
The seminar included student-led sessions on Solutions for Kashmir Dispute where students got the chance to participate and present their solutions for the Kashmir dispute in deliberative discussions with academics and resource persons.
