American Institute of Pakistan Studies to link UOL to 38 Universities of the US
The American Institute of Pakistan Studies (AIPS), based in Islamabad and the US, on December 28, 2019, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Lahore (UOL) in which the former agreed to link the latter to a consortium of 38 US universities and academic institutes with the aim of promoting cooperation in higher education sector. AIPS will particularly encourage and facilitate academic partnerships between UOL and its member universities in the US. Partnerships will include, but not limited to, faculty exchanges, student exchanges, split degrees, collaborative research on the subjects of common interest and face-to-face or technology assisted lectures and seminars.  

Additionally, AIPS will also assist UOL in bringing senior faculty from the US for conducting trainings and developing academic linkages with US universities and find suitable placements for doctoral and post-doctoral scholars at US universities primarily in social sciences and allied fields. Both institutions agreed to co-organize series of academic talks and seminars of the visiting US researchers at various campuses of the University. UOL, in particular, will be providing local logistics to AIPS scholars for effective implementation of faculty mentoring workshops and other joint initiatives. 

Mr. Awais Raoof (Chairman BoG, UOL), Dr. Farhat Haq (President AIPS Islamabad: USA & PK), Mr. Nadeem Akber, (Director AIPS), and Mr. Murtaza Noor (National Coordinator, Inter University Consortium, IUCPSS) signed the MoU at UOL Main Campus, Defense Road, Lahore.
