Lahore School of Aviation (LSA), with the full contribution of 1st semester students organized a mega aviation exhibition, branded “AEROBRASS”, on December 20th, 2018 at the University of Lahore, Defense Road Campus. This annual event is supposedly the biggest exhibition of aviation held by any university offering aviation degree across Pakistan, aimed at providing a desired platform to display projects, developing creativity and presentation skills, promoting industrial linkages, and uplifting students’ talents and skills. Most importantly, Aerobrass enables students to network with aviation industry professionals who provide employment opportunities to students.

The Minister of Punjab for Youth Affairs and Sports Mr. Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti was the chief guest while Mr. Hanif Khan Pitafi (Advisor to CM on Health) and Malik Nadeem Abbas Bara (member of the Punjab Assembly) graced the event as guests of honor. Senior management team of the UOL was fully represented by the Patron-in-Chief M. A. Raoof; the Chairman BoG Mr. Awais Rauf; the Rector Prof. Dr. Mujahid Kamran; and the Director Office of Student Affairs (OSA) Mrs. Ammara Awais. Country managers, station managers of multiple prominent airlines and the entire LSA team was also present to spot and appreciate talent.

A total of 36 projects were displayed in the exhibition. The projects mainly portrayed the history of aviation, main events of aviation, different designs of airports, models of planes and drones and others used VR technique to demonstrate the flight simulator. Air blue also had its stall in the competition. All the projects were professionally conceptualized and this rendered adjudicators tough time to select the best. However, finally the “Transmutators”, a project with the slogan “Never refuse to reuse” emerged as the best and walked away with a cheque of 30,000 PKR.  The project focused on recycling, and the techniques to make aircrafts using recycled material.

Teams “Blucons” and “Streagler” shared the 2nd position, with the former bearing the slogan of “The journey is ours”. Blucons built a simulator using PVC pipes for the frame and Microsoft Flight Simulator software to make it run. The Streagles made a flying model of aircraft with a slogan “On Wings We Conquer”. They also won a cheque of 2,000 PKR.
