Engineering Department launches Commercial Testing of Materials
The Civil Engineering Department (CED) is about to launch a program on commercial testing of materials for Civil Engineering Projects. This will not only facilitate the Civil Engineering Industry but also generate revenue for the UOL. The project has already gained approval of the UOL Patron-in-Chief M.A. Raoof.
The CED has well equipped engineering laboratories that make it capable of running the project. During the last few years, these labs have been strengthened with an addition of branded equipment like Universal Testing Machine, Concrete Compression & Flexural Testing Machine, Marshal Stability and Flow Testing Machine, California Bearing Ratio Machine, Direct Shear Testing Machine, Tri-Axial Testing Machine and Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. These machines are operated by the well-qualified and trained lab technicians, under the supervision of well-qualified faculty having the vast field experience. Presently, these machines are used for MSc/PhD research and undergraduate Final Year Projects.
