LBS debates on Solid Waste Management

Solid waste management has become one of the major concerns in today’s life. Industrial and municipal wastes are a great burden on the environment. They are associated with many local and global impacts, such as land pollution, waste pollution and global warming. It is very important to train and provide awareness to the upcoming generations regarding environmental pollution. In this regard, the UOL’s Lahore Business School organized a seminar on “Solid Waste Management Awareness and Its Business Constraints”, on February 20, 2019, at the varsity’s Defence Road Campus.

The seminar aimed at creating awareness among the students about the practical case study of solid waste management. The General Coordinator, OZPAK Jv, Mr. Faik Kucukyazici; Deputy Managing Director OZPAK Jv, Mr. Karim Mubin Esen and Senior Manager Operations, OZPAK Jv, Mr. Warasit Waris were the chief guests of the seminar that attracted 400 students approximately.

The organizing team included Dr. Soniya Munir (Lecturer), Ms. Maliha Barry (Program Manager), Ms. Aisha Kashif (Assistant Professor/ Cluster Head of Allied Science), Ms. Sana Shahid (Lecturer), Ms. Alishba Hania (Lecturer) and Mr. Imran Ibrahim (Lecturer).

Mr. Kucukyazici discussed all the environmental hazards associated with the industries. At the end of the seminar, souvenirs were presented to the honorable guests by Assistant Professor Finance, Dr. Rizwan Shah and Ms. Aisha Kashif.
