Chinese University, UOL sign MoUs
The Director International Office of Guangdong Ocean University, China, Mr. Zhang Jinhua visited the University of Lahore on May 9, 2019 and held several meetings with the Chairman BoG Mr. Awais Raoof, Rector Prof. Dr. Mujahid Kamran, Director Office of Student Affairs Ms. Ammara Awais, and Assistant Director CPEC Research Center Mr. Muhammad Zeeshan.  
While at UOL, Mr. Jinhua signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) for Academic Exchanges and launching of a Joint Belt and Road Academic Forum (BRAF) between the two institutions. The two parties agreed to collaborate on joint research, lectures, seminars and conferences; hold academic staff/researchers exchange programs; jointly organize the summer and winter camps, language programs, short courses for the students of Belt and Road countries; and exchange academic information and publications. The Guangdong Provincial Education Department welcomed this initiative taken by both institutions.
Upon launching the joint academic forum, Mr. Jinhua who belongs to the Chinese Communist Party said:  “China and Pakistan are the most successful allies in current regional politics. This fruitful alliance between the two countries will result into a prosperous future for upcoming generations.” “Belt and Road Initiative and CPEC are considered as the game changers for both countries. We are trying to engage different stakeholders at different levels. In this regard, I am very happy to visit The University of Lahore which is already running a well-established CPEC Research Center with clear strategies to sustain the alliance,” he added.
